1,000 Miles Off Broadway is moving forward! Our group has already purchased a majority of our own lighting and sound equipment out of pocket. We have also placed a down payment on a beautiful Olympia Steel Building, for which we can brick and meet city codes! We want to build a small, intimate theater venue, with around 150 seats, and still have a standard sized stage and scene shop, dressing rooms, lobby and concession area. This space will allow us to rehearse, build sets, hold educational workshops, and of course, present highly entertaining Broadway style musicals and plays.
Our program's goal is to enable businesses and individuals to support our efforts in the arts by taking a Step for our organization. After donating, we will advertise your business, it's website link, or your name on our website, at our shows, and on a plaque in the lobby of our new building! For a land donation, we will name our lobby and concession area after you or your business!
PHASE 1 is dedicated to obtaining land for our building. Since we are a non-profit, civic arts organization, we do not have to be in a strictly commercial zone. This makes our goal very attainable with your help! All tax deductible donations will be placed in our nonprofit account and used for purchasing land for our building. Our estimated cost is $50,000.
PHASE 2 is dedicated to making the final payment on the building and placing it on the land site. In addition, we will pour the concrete floor, install basic wiring, lighting, plumbing, AC and heating. Our estimated cost is $50,000. After the completion of this phase, we will have a permanent place to make and store our theatrical sets, props, equipment, as well as conduct rehearsals and hold auditions!
PHASE 3 is the completion phase. This is dedicated to outer building work, seating, rigging, stage construction and final touches on acoustics and equipment. After the completion of this phase, our box office will be open!
